You can choose the rate adapted to the weight of your dog, there are models for dogs weighing between 10 and 90 lbs (choose on amazon).

Travel Bowls For dogs

To ship a dog by air, you will need to pay an average of $100 for 100 miles, ( usually around $200 to $500 ) which could cost up to $1000 for long distances.

You will also need a container to carry your dog’s food with you, if he travels with you in the cabin.

Here is the one I recommend

Mihachi Travel Bowls: Portable Pet Treat Can, Twist-Lock Stackable Dispenser, Spill Proof Multiply Layers Plastic Bottle(BPA Free), Food Storage Container for Small Dogs , Ideal for Trips

Finally, the weight of the crate doesn’t really matter if your dog will travel in the hold, but if you have a small dog and you want him to travel with you in the cabin, choose instead the carriers I recommended, they are very light and your dog with this carrier will surely not exceed the weight allowed by the airline.

On the other hand, if you opt for the plastic crate, you will be able to use it during the trip for the crate training and take your dog to the vet by car …etc…
